A farm is defined as a tract of land devoted to agricultural purposes, including the raising of crops and the raising of animals and domestic livestock. A ranch is essentially the same as a farm, except that the emphasis is on raising livestock versus raising agricultural crops.

A quick search of the Taos MLS on January 5, 2008, for existing farm and ranch properties showed 15 properties currently available, ranging

  • in price from $30,000 to $6,660,000, and
  • in size from 10-acres to 873-acres.
These farms or ranches are located in various locations around the Taos area, from as close as the Questa New Mexico area to as far as the Chama New Mexico area. .
