A farm is defined as a tract of land devoted to agricultural purposes, including the raising of crops and the raising of animals and domestic livestock. A ranch is essentially the same as a farm, except that the emphasis is on raising livestock versus raising agricultural crops.
A quick search of the Taos MLS on January 5, 2008, for existing farm and ranch properties showed 15 properties currently available, ranging
- in price from $30,000 to $6,660,000, and
- in size from 10-acres to 873-acres.

ranches are located in various locations around the Taos area, from as close as the Questa New Mexico area to as far as the Chama New Mexico area. .
